LEGENDS PORTRAIT : THE SHERLOCK STAMP : KUNG FU FOR U WITH BITE???

POSTED AT THE FACEBOOK PCASUK FAN PAGE WITH OVER A 1,000 LIKES, is this fine full colour photograph, that I am sure you have seen many time in black and white by the late and super talented photographer, Terry O'Neil. Four legends in this pic, . . #PeterCushing, #VincentPrice, #ChristopherLee and #JohnCarradine in 'House of Long Shadows' (1983)... each left us with a stellar filmography, full of variety and cinematic history... .... I've been asking, could you select THE film that you think, in your personal opinion was the pinnacle of their movie careers though??? Suggestions please at the post on our Facebook Fan Page !

ON #SHERLOCKSUNDAY at the FAN PAGE we posted when Peter Cushing's Sherlock, got the 'stamp' of approval . .

ON SUNDAY TOO lots of interest, when we posted this :Today we are wishing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to the lovely ALICE KRIGE. Her first feature film role was in Chariots of Fire (1981) as the Gilbert and Sullivan singer Sybil Gordon.

Some of her best known roles are the dual role of Eva Galli/Alma Mobley in Ghost Story (1981) ,Mary Brady in Stephen Kings Sleepwalkers (1992) and the Borg Queen in the Star Trek franchise, beginning with the film Star Trek: First Contact and then reprising the role in the Star Trek Voyager finale 'Endgame'.

She co-starred with Peter Cushing in A Tale of Two Cities (1980) as Lucie Manette.....

ON MONDAY we posted this and marked this BIRTHDAY! Join us today in wishing DAVID CHIANG a VERY Happy Birthday! David Chiang Da-wei was born on the 29th June 1947 in Shanghai, (Republic of China) Chiang is a very famous actor and director, producer in Hong Kong. Chiang was very much a martial arts superstar in the 1970s, working under the Shaw Brothers Studio. He has appeared in over 130 films and over 30 television series.

IN 1974, Chiang starred along side Peter Cushing in Hammer films first of two co-partner feature films with Hong Kong based studio, Shaw Brothers. 'The Legend of the Seven Golden Vampires' Peter for the last time resurrected his character of Van Helsing, and together with Chiang, Julie Ege and Robin Stewart, took on an oriental Dracula played by actor John Forbes Robertson and a hoard of Kung Fu zombie vampires!

#LOCKDOWN BEWARE THE HOUND OF HELL : PCASUK #WATCHPARTY RIGHT NOW!

PCASUK WATCH PARTY! Tonight, you get the opportunity to judge which version of Peter Cushing Sherlock Holmes 'The Hound of the Baskervilles' you enjoy best! The BBC version we shared with you a short while ago on another #WatchWithCushing! Watch Party OR THIS version, produced by Hammer films also starring Christopher Lee in 1958? Directed by Terence Fisher, it has fine photography, performances and a cracking film score too by James Bernard! Look out for scene stealer Miles Malleson as the Bishop. YOU can join the PCASUK WATCH PARTY HERE! Like all the Watch Party films and posts, this film will remain on the page after tonight too 😉

SURPRISE! It has been often said that, typecasting hung around Christopher Lee for quite some time, maybe until later in his career when, he believed there was a little more flexibility. Personally, I always thought the majority of his roles, were often quite different, the genre may have been somewhere in a shared ball park, but I wouldn't say his role as the evil Edward Blake in 'I Monster' was the same as say, Francisco Scaramanga in 'The Man with the Golden Gun' or even the role of 'The Monster' in 'The Curse of Frankenstein' was in any close to Kharis in 'The Mummy' . . In this interview, which you can find HERE he makes his point in discussing how he always tried to surprise his audience.. which I think, he in most cases certainly did. At the PCASUK FAN PAGE, we ask IF there are role you can remember, where Christopher Lee played this card very well.. and surprised you?? Please feel free to skip to the page and tell us your thoughts 😊

FINALLY, A FEW DAYS AGO I posted and shared this photograph of  #VincentPrice and director #PeteWalker during the making of 'House of the Long Shadows' in 1982. Price was offered this movie and accepted before the script was written. The producers Yoram Globus and Menahem Golan never read the script . .. interestingly the film ran out of money three weeks into shooting. The film took five weeks to shoot and cost just under one million pounds sterling and is the only film where all four, #PeterCushing, #ChristopherLee and #JohnCarradine, all appear on screen together! Many 'Hammer and Amicus fans were a little disappointed with the film and script when it was released. Personally, I am very fond of it 😊 and on asking our followers and friends if they were too... got some interesting comments and answers! You can catch this photograph and those comments, which you too may want to contribute too maybe, RIGHT HERE! What are your thoughts??? - I hope you are all well and keeping safe this weekend? 😐😊- Marcus

VINCENT PRICE AND CHRISTOPHER LEE BORN TODAY : BIRTHDAYS CELEBRATED!

TODAY we remember TWO gentlemen who were, as we all know, close friends to Peter Cushing. By a strange quirk of fate, they SHARED their birthday's today, on the 27th May. 😃 Christopher Lee and Vincent Price... Sadly, neither are no longer with us... Lee's passing was in June 2015. A sad loss even at his age...we just didn't want him to go. He was, Peter Cushing's closest friend . . celebrated and remembered here, almost as much as Peter. He had a career that stretched across almost every genre in the industry. His accomplishments were many, his skill as an actor even as he grew frail, never left him... and neither did we. Today, we mark his birthday and celebrate a remarkable career and life! Happy Birthday Christopher Lee!

A wonderful publicity photograph of both Peter Cushing and Vincent Price while recording the BBC radio serial 'ALIENS OF THE MIND' in 1977. Do you REMEMBER this radio series being broadcast?

SO, PETER YESTERDAY, Christopher Lee AND.... VINCENT PRICE today! Nothing I can say here that hasn't already been said about the versatile Vinnie... certainly a 'Man of the Arts', whose distinctive voice and excellent performances in fantasy films, made him a firm favourite for over 40 years! His career spanned other genres, including film noir, drama, mystery, thriller, and comedy. He appeared on stage, television, radio, and in over one hundred films.... a good friend of both Peter and Christopher, though only appeared on screen with them BOTH just the once, in 'The House of the Long Shadows' in 1983. He is still greatly missed, much and much celebrated, Vincent... a man and actor who could never be replaced... HAPPY BIRTHDAY Vincent Price!

#THROWBACKTHURSDAY SHELIA KEITH REMEMBERED ON HER BIRTHDAY

Today we remember British character actress SHELIA KEITH, whose career spanned nearly 40 Years.

SHE MADE a number of appearances in British TV programmes during the 60's and 70's. However, she is perhaps best known for her frequent collaborations with horror director, Pete Walker who she worked with in FIVE FILMS!

IN HER OBITUARY, The Times described her as an "Actress of film, stage and television who became a ‘British horror icon’"...... It was with her portrayal of sinister, sadistic and deranged women in the horror movies of the director Pete Walker, that she acquired her most devoted following"

KEITH CO STARRED with Peter Cushing in The House Of The Long Shadows (1983) as Victoria Grisbane, daughter to John Carradine's,
Lord Elijah Grisbane.
